I needed something because my SHOLO was interrupting our early morning sleep time. This is my first day, but I like it AFTER I finally was able to schedule the feedings with correct timings and portions!
My cat used to wake me at 2 a.m. and then at 4 a.m. to eat. Now I set the automatic feeder, and she doesn’t bother me.
This is the best idea I ever had, and I love it. My cat gets fed on a schedule whether I am there or not, and its portion control, a huge plus for my fat cat. I don't use the audio feature, but I wish I got the camera one, it would be so nice to see her when I am far from home, knowing she is okay, And with the battery back up all the recent storms did not affect her at all. Unlike the water fountain, that runs 24/7 and no power means no water. Overall, It is a great investment. I originally set it up on a breakfast tray, to keep it away from the ants, so I would also like to see a higher sitting version, so that the cat does not have to bend to eat, its better for digestion. I have it on the floor now, but looking for a tray the right height.
We just purchased the 6L WIFI white automatic pet feeder for our tubby food-obsessed Maine Coone mix, Bentley. So far we love it and it is working well. We were already using a kitchen scale to measure out his 6 small meals a day and feeding our shy cat separately since they are on two different kinds of RX food. Bentley RUNS to the feeder and NEVER leaves food for shy cat, Cooper, to steal. We’re hoping that with time, it will help Bentley beg less. Due to our specific cats, we will have to continue feeding Cooper separately or buy him a smart feeder that locks Bentley out. I’ve found both the feeder and app very easy to set up and use. We like that we can program up to 10 different meal times each day and that we can feed from the app in between feedings if needed. Fat cat has tried and failed to get extra food to drop from the feeder. He has been able to remove the stainless steel bowl but has not tried to tip the feeder or remove the lid yet. I wish there was a little more control over the exact portion sizes because of weight loss goals; however, after the first 6 or so servings came out of the feeder, each serving seems to be approximately 7 grams of our particular food so we’ve been able to get close to his food goal (might be different grams per serving with different sized food?). I would also like to see more of a locking lid. I put a small piece of tape on the lid to try to prevent a break in attempt. Stainless steel bowl is easy to clean. Bin that holds the food may be a bit harder to clean when the time comes. Overall, both fat cat and cat parents are liking this feeder.
