I got one of each, the standard and starter. We got the standard first and set it up right away, with kitty help, of course. They checked it out immediately and use it all the time. We are a cattery and love that we can just change the same tree to grow with the kittens and not have to store multiple trees or get new ones when they wear out the scratching posts. Would love to see an add on with an enclosed sleeping area as kittens love to pile on top of each other in a safe, dark place and they often want it to be higher off the ground as they get older.
I really like this cat tree and, so far, my cats do, too. I am looking forward to being able to order replacement parts because I would like another cushion or two to add to the other shelves. I would also like to replace the wooden rods with the sisal posts to make it a little sturdier. My cats weigh between 8 and 17 lbs so sturdier is always better. I also know that at some point in the future I will need new sisal posts because my cats already enjoy using them to sharpen their claws.
Mine arrived last night. Took about an hour from opening the box to completion. Probably would have been quicker, but definitely some human error on my part. Cats instantly took to it, amazing product! I hope in the future for different add ons.
I just assembled mine (#8 so we don’t waste any parts). It’s bigger than I thought and aesthetically pleasing. The simple natural look blends in any environment and I can see how it can be colored and refreshed! It’s not the strongest cat tree I’ve used though, wobbles when my cat(8.3lbs) jumps on and off the highest perch. Since the cat tree itself weighs only 37lbs I can understand it. I’m looking forward to purchase the replacement parts, especially the sisal posts so I can replace the thin dowels.
