The water within the 2.5L tank is continuously cycled through a 4-layer vertical filtration system. Each element has been specially designed to remove a specific harmful pathogen, ensuring that only fresh, clean water is pumped back into the water tank ready for your cat to consume. • We start off with the non-woven fabric layer. This removes any pet hair that’s found its way into the tank. 
• Next up we have the activated carbon layer. Here the water is filtered for any contaminants that cause foul odors, often an indicator of potentially harmful pathogens.
• The water then finds its water to the ion exchange resin layer. All heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, mercury, and arsenic within the water are filtered out. These metals are extremely toxic, potentially causing liver and kidney damage to pets and humans. Dockstream removes all of these contaminants. 
• Once the heavy metals are removed, the final stop for the water is at the high-density sponge layer. Any remaining fine particles such as dirt and dust are filtered out.
