What is pet detection?
Pet detection is one of the fundamental features of the Scout Smart Camera. It uses the biological characteristics to identify your cat or dog when they step into the scene. Currently, Scout only recognizes cats and dogs.
If you find that it's not recognizing your pets, try adjusting the pet detection sensitivity. To do this, go to the app's Settings, select Pet Detection, then select Pet Detection Sensitivity. If your camera mistakenly identifies non-pet objects (such as moving curtains or flying insects) as pets, we recommend lowering the sensitivity. If your pet passes by but isn't detected, try increasing the sensitivity.
The Pet Detection Sensitivity has five levels, from 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest). The higher the sensitivity, the more likely the system is to detect all moving objects, which might result in false positives. if you set the sensitivity too low, the system might miss some pet activities. Try increasing or lowering the sensitivity one notch at a time until you reach your preferred sensitivity level.
