How does Luma keep my cat safe?

Luma only starts cleaning once its camera, infrared, and weight sensors confirm your cat has left the litter box. If a cat approaches while it's rotating, Luma immediately pauses to keep them safe.

Will automatic cleaning scare my timid cat?

Timid cats do great with Luma. You can set a 1 to 60 minute delay in automatic mode to avoid startling them. This also gives their waste time to fully clump, which helps with cleaning. You can also turn off automatic cleaning and use the clean button in the app instead.

Does Luma have cat age and weight limits? Is there a limit to how many cats can use it?

Luma is designed for multi-cat homes, can recognize up to 10 cats, and works best for cats between 2.2 and 22 lbs. For cats less than 6 months old, under 2.2 lb (1 kg), or pregnant or nursing, turn off auto clean and use Luma's cleaning button instead. Small, senior, or mobility-impaired cats might prefer to use the included step for easier entry and exit.

My cat's a "high-peer" and with other automatic litter boxes, splashed pee has leaked. Can Luma stop my cat's pee from leaking onto my floor?

Luma was made to stop leaks. The integrated design of the litter basket and base eliminates gaps, and the litter mat's outer sealing ring uses a hard plastic and silicone overmolding process to leak-proof all seams. Together, these features ensure that absolutely no urine leaks through to your floor.

How loud is Luma during cleaning? Is there a quiet mode?

Luma’s cleaning noise ranges from approximately 35 to 47 dB, depending on the fan speed. You can also enable Sleep Mode in the app to schedule quiet hours for cleaning and air purification.

How does Luma stop cat waste from sticking to it?

Luma tackles this in a few ways. The litter mat has a special coating to keep waste from sticking. By default, Luma waits 1 minute before cleaning so waste has time to clump (you can set this delay up to 60 minutes). During cleaning, Luma covers the waste with litter to stop it from sticking.

Does Luma's litter filter remove all waste residue?

Luma’s litter filter has a mesh that catches debris larger than 1 cm, effectively clearing most clumps and residue from the clean litter. Be sure to always use the correct filter for your litter type.

Can I customize Luma's cleaning schedule?

Yes. Luma can clean automatically after each use, or you can set up to 10 scheduled cleanings. You can also start or pause a cleaning cycle anytime using the app.

Will Luma's odor control system keep working the way it does when it's new?

Luma’s deodorization system is designed to last. For optimal performance, we recommend replacing the carbon deodorizer every three months—or as needed.

Why is my cat's weight in the app is different from its actual weight?

Luma's weight sensor may be slightly inaccurate if your cat isn't centered in the litter box. If the weight shown in the app doesn’t match your cat’s actual weight, it’s usually due to their position during weighing.

Does Luma work with smart home platforms like Google Home, Apple HomeKit, and Samsung SmartThings?

Not at the moment. However, we’re always exploring ways to make Luma more connected, so this may be possible in the future.

How often is Luma's software updated?

The Petlibro app gets routine updates every two weeks. Not every update affects Luma specifically, but when they do, you'll get them automatically through the app.

What are Luma's dimensions?

Luma measures 23.3 × 22.5 × 28.1 inches (592 × 573 × 714 mm) with a 17.4-inch (442 mm) entry. Even large cats can enter, move, and turn around comfortably.

Can I return Luma if my cat doesn't like it?

Most cats adjust to new litter boxes within 7 days, but some need a little more time.
