What Should I Do If the Dockstream Fountain Doesn't Work?

There are several possible reasons for the fountain to stop working. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the motor to start pumping water once it’s refilled or plugged in. If water doesn’t flow after 5 minutes, try these troubleshooting tips:

1. Check the cord. Replace the power adapter/cable (if you have another one), or use the adapter/cable with your other devices to see if it works properly. Please note that the Dockstream water fountain only supports USB-A to USB-C cords like the picture below.

2. Check the installation. Ensure the water pump, silicone water pipe, filter tray, filter lid, and sport are properly installed, and the pump is put in the correct area and direction on the water tank.

3. Silicone water pipe obstruction: Please check the water pipe to ensure no blockages are inside.

4. Check the pump:

  • The pump should be disassembled for cleaning at least every two weeks to ensure proper function. If the pump hasn't been disassembled and cleaned before, it is recommended to soak it in white vinegar for 1 hour to remove the calcium deposits.
  • Please check if the impeller cap (the small white plastic piece inside the pump) is properly installed. Without this component, the pump cannot generate sufficient pressure. Please also ensure the pump cover is secure and correct. (Impeller → Impeller Cap → Pump Cover).

5. Water quality can also affect the pump and how effectively it runs. Hard water will cause calcium deposits to build up in the pump's cavity, blocking the impeller from spinning. If there is evidence of hard water build-up inside the pump, allow the impeller and the pump to soak in a bowl of white vinegar for 15-30 minutes. Clean all fountain parts in soap and water before reassembling the fountain.
