Pre-sale inquiries about the Granary Smart feeder

1. Does the feeder still feed as scheduled when the feeder is offline but still powered on?
Yes, the feeder still feeds as scheduled, but the app is not available.

2. When the feeder is battery-operated only, will the feeder dispense food as scheduled?
When the feeder is powered only by batteries, the Wi-Fi function, play button, and reset button will be disabled to extend the working time, but the meal schedules will be carried out normally. The offline feeding log will be uploaded to the app after the feeder is online again.

3. When setting up feeding portions for two cats (feeder with the dual-bowl), will the portion size be relevant to the mode set? E.g., if set to single tray, 1/2 cup will dispense 1/2 cup. Dual mode will dispense 1/2 cup per bowl?

The food dispensing mode (Single vs. Dual tray) does not affect the portion amount. Whether the feeder is set to single tray or dual tray mode, if you program it to dispense ½ cup, it will dispense exactly ½ cup in total.

The only difference is in the motor operation:

  • In Dual Tray mode, the motor rotates in alternating directions (clockwise and counterclockwise) to help achieve a more even distribution across both bowls.

  • In Single Tray mode, the motor only rotates in one direction.

So, the portion size remains consistent—mode only affects how the food is distributed, not how much is dispensed.

4. Is it possible to dispense a smaller portion than the current minimum 1/12 cup (~20ml) through a firmware update or other modification? The current 1/12 cup is too large.
The minimum portion size is determined by the physical design of the feeder's rotor size, which controls the amount of food dispensed per rotation. Firmware updates cannot alter this mechanical limitation.

5. If we travel to another country, does the feeder follow the time zone of our location?
The feeder follows the time zone based on where it was originally set up and connected to Wi-Fi. Regardless of the user's current location or the location of their mobile phone, the device will always follow the time zone of the region it was last connected to.

6. Do I need a subscription to use the feeder? Why is there an extra charge?

Just to clarify, the Pet Care service is an optional subscription service that is not required to use your feeder. The "Select Pet" option is part of this service, but if you do not wish to subscribe, you can simply skip this option during the setup process.

The essential setup options—such as feeding times and feeding amount—are marked with a red star, and you can proceed with these settings without needing to activate the subscription.

Feel free to complete the setup of your feeder without subscribing to the PetCare service.

7. Is there an option to purchase extra bowls?
Yes, we do offer the purchase of additional accessories, including Food Bowls. However, please note that currently, these items can only be shipped within the continental United States. If you have a need for them, kindly reach out to our official support team and provide us with the quantity you require, along with your exact physical address. Our support team will respond to your inquiry as swiftly as possible.

8. My feeder was previously using the Petlibro Lite app, can I use the Petlibro app?
No, the Petlibro Lite app, developed with Tuya, has limitations and is incompatible with newer products. Our self-developed Petlibro app, launched in late 2023, supports upgraded features but requires hardware and chip updates, making it incompatible with feeders made before that date.
