Frequently Asked Questions
Does the scale need calibration? How often, and what’s the maximum weight?

Yes. We recommend calibrating the scale each time the feeder is disassembled and reassembled. The scale supports a maximum load of 7.5 kg, helping ensure accurate food tracking and gram-level consumption insights.
What is the maximum number of portions per dispense? How much is one portion?

The maximum is 6 portions per dispense. One portion is approximately 20 ml or 10 g, which is about 1/12 cup.
Is this feeder compatible with wet food?

No. The Granary 2 Series is designed for dry kibble only.

For best performance, kibble should be between 2 mm and 15 mm in size. Oversized or irregularly shaped pieces, such as cubes larger than 9 mm or crescent-shaped kibble, are not recommended. If you’re unsure whether your pet’s food is compatible, please contact us before ordering.
How long does one full hopper of food last?

A full hopper can last approximately 30 days based on a typical 5 kg adult cat eating around 80 g of dry food per day.

Actual duration will vary based on factors such as kibble type, environment, and your pet’s breed, age, health, and eating habits. The Petlibro app tracks hopper levels and alerts you when food is running low.
How long does the desiccant bag last?

We recommend replacing the desiccant every 14 days to help maintain food freshness. Two desiccant bags are required at a time.

Do I need to purchase batteries separately?

No. Every Granary 2 Series feeder includes a built-in rechargeable backup battery. No separate battery purchase is required.
How long does the battery last during a power outage? Can it be used as the primary power source?

The Granary 2 Vision and Granary 2 Vision Duo rovide up to 48 hours.

The battery is designed for emergency backup use only and is not intended as a primary power source.

During a power outage, Wi-Fi connectivity, camera functions, pet recognition, and feeding schedules will continue to operate normally.

Battery performance was measured under Petlibro laboratory conditions. Actual results may vary.
Does the feeder still work if it goes offline?

Yes. If the feeder goes offline, remote control through the app will be unavailable, but feeding schedules will continue to run automatically.
Can my pet shake food out of the food tank?

No. The dispensing system is fully enclosed, helping prevent food from being released if the feeder is nudged, bumped, or shaken by a curious pet.
Is food distributed evenly between both bowls on Granary 2 Vision Duo?

Yes. Granary 2 Vision Duo uses a dual-channel dispensing system designed to distribute food evenly between both bowls, with a variance of less than 5% between sides.
Can the bowl base be washed?

Only the stainless-steel bowl and bowl holder are washable.

Do not rinse or submerge the area beneath the bowl holder, as it contains electronic components. If cleaning is needed, wipe the area gently with a damp cloth and allow it to dry completely before use.

Granary 2 Vision Duo adds independent weighing for each bowl, combined with multi-pet recognition, making it easier to track feeding activity across multi-pet households.

Its dual-channel dispensing system is also designed to distribute food evenly between both bowls.
How does Smart Refill Mode work?

In Smart Refill Mode, the built-in scale continuously monitors how much food remains in the bowl.

When food drops below your selected threshold, the feeder automatically dispenses more food while staying within your configured daily limit. This mode is ideal for pets that prefer to graze throughout the day.
When will the black colorway be available?

The black colorway is expected to be available in late September 2026.
Is the Granary 2 Series sealed? How do I keep pests out?

The Granary 2 food tank is designed to help resist moisture and pests, though it is not a fully airtight enclosure.

For best results, we recommend using FD002 desiccant packs and replacing them regularly to help maintain food freshness.
Can the Granary 2 Series dispense medication?

Granary 2 Series feeders are designed for dry food only and are not intended for dispensing medication.

For medication schedules and administration, please follow your veterinarian’s recommendations.
Can I use my HSA/FSA for this product?

You may be able to use your HSA/FSA funds depending on your plan and eligibility. At checkout, select Flex to see if you qualify. Some purchases may require a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN), which Flex helps facilitate through a licensed provider. If approved, a non-refundable $5 LMN fee will be added at checkout.
What if I’m not able to use HSA/FSA at checkout?

You can still complete your purchase using another payment method. You may be able to submit your receipt for reimbursement through your HSA/FSA provider.
