Q: Can the One RFID feeder read microchips or be used with other RFID tags?
A: The RFID reader only works with the dedicated collar tag, not miccrochips or tags from other brands.Besides, the feeder can only syncwith one collar tag.
Q: What's the best way to place mutiple One RFID feeders?
A: Feeders should be positioned in a dry location, with each One RFID feeder placed at least 10 inches apart from one another. Moreover, any Dockstream fountains should be positioned at a minimum of 5.9 inches away from any One RFID feeder for optimal performance.
Q: Can the feeder work without the mat that comes with the feeder?
A: No, the feeder's pet recognition feature relies on RFID technology, of which the mat functions as the RFID reader that allows the correct pet to be recognized and for the food bowl lid to open. When you install the feeder, make sure the RFID reader mat is properly installed or the pet recognition will fail. We recommend making sure the RFID reader is properly attached properly to the base of the feeder on a daily basis.
Q: Can this feeder be used for wet cat food?
A: The feeder is suitable for dry food ONLY, with kibble sizes ranging from 2-15mm in diameter. Larger kibble may get stuck at the food outlet.
Q: Can this feeder work with larger dogs?
A: This feeder is more suited for small or medium pets.
Q: Can the feeder run on just battery power without the power plug, or is the battery only for backup in case of a power outage?
A: To prevent sudden power outages from affecting your pet's feeding, avoid using the batteries as the sole power source for the feeder. The batteries should only be used as an emergency backup. When the feeder is powered solely by batteries, the Wi-Fi function and reset button will be disabled to extend the working time, while meal schedules will be carried out normally.
Q: Is the collar tag waterproof?
A: The collar tag is splashproof only. Please refrain from submerging the tag underwater. Additionally, the tag is made of food-safe material and is bite-proof.
Q: Does the collar tag need to be charged?
A: No, the tag does not need charging.

Q: How often should I refill the water?
A: That depends on how many pets you have, whether they're cats or dogs, and how thirsty they get. If you have one cat, refilling about twice a week is a good rule of thumb. You might need twice that amount for a small dog.
Q: When should I change the filter?
A: We recommend replacing the fountain's filter every 2 weeks to keep your pet's water clean and fresh.
Q: Which pets is the Dockstream 2 best for?
A: This next-generation pet fountain was created with dogs and cats in mind.
Q: When does the fountain send water alerts?
A: The Dockstream 2 sends two water alerts. The low-water alert is triggered when there’s still a small amount of water in the tank, giving you time to refill it. The water shortage alert is triggered when the tank is so low that the fountain has stopped flowing to prevent damage. In this case, you should refill the water immediately.
Q: Can I put the fountain in the dishwasher?
A: No, only the stainless steel water tray is dishwasher-safe. All the other components must be washed by hand.
Q: Do I still need to use a filter if I’m filling the tank with purified water?
A: Yes, you still need a filter. The 4-layer filtration system removes heavy metals, fur, and odors to keep your pet’s water fresh and inviting.
Q: What happens if the water in the tank runs out?
A: You’ll get a low-water alert when it’s time to refill the tank, but we get it—life gets busy. If you miss a refill and there’s no water in the tank, the water pump rotor will shut down to prevent damaging the fountain.
Q: Why does the fountain sometimes fail to register when my pet is drinking?
A: This might happen for a few reasons. If your pet plays with their water, it can interfere with detection. It could be that the amount drunk is too small (under 2ml) to detect. In sensor-activated mode, if your pet approaches and drinks from behind the fountain, the sensor might not catch them. If this is the case, try placing the fountain against a wall.
