How to Clear a Food Jam

Follow these steps if food is stuck, the feeder repeatedly reverses, no food is dispensed, or a jam alert appears.

Step 1. Turn off the feeder

Unplug the feeder and set the battery switch to OFF before removing food or foreign objects.

Step 2. Clear the food path

Remove visible food, powder, or foreign objects from the rotor and dispensing chute.

Step 3. Check the kibble and food level

Use dry kibble between 2 and 18 mm. Avoid large square, crescent-shaped, or irregular pieces. Reduce the food tank to about half full and make sure the stirring paddle is installed securely.

Step 4. Test the feeder

Restore power and run three separate manual feedings. If large meals jam frequently, divide them into smaller 2-3 portion feedings or use Smart Refill.
