Yes. We recommend calibrating the scale each time the feeder is disassembled and reassembled. The scale supports a maximum load of 7.5 kg, helping ensure accurate food tracking and gram-level consumption insights.
We recommend replacing the desiccant every 14 days. Each replacement requires 2 desiccant bags. Replace the desiccant sooner if the packs become firm or if the food begins to lose its freshness. You can also set a reminder in the Petlibro App to help stay on schedule.
Most cats are naturally curious. For first-time users, place Luma next to your cat's current litter box and use treats or toys to encourage exploration. Use their usual litter and add a small amount of used litter for familiarity. For the first few days, turn off automatic cleaning and set the fan to low to create a calm, comfortable environment. Learn more.
Luma only starts cleaning once its camera, infrared, and weight sensors confirm your cat has left the litter box. If a cat approaches while it's rotating, Luma immediately pauses to keep them safe.
Yes, we designed Luma to be easy to clean and maintain. You can remove the litter compartment for cleaning in just 2 steps, and all internal parts can be quickly removed for a thorough wash. For maintenance, we recommend replacing both the carbon deodorizer and the litter mat about every 3 months for single-cat homes (or as needed).
Luma is designed for multi-cat homes, can recognize up to 10 cats, and works best for cats between 2.2 and 22 lbs. For cats less than 6 months old, under 2.2 lb (1 kg), or pregnant or nursing, turn off auto clean and use Luma's cleaning button instead. Small, senior, or mobility-impaired cats might prefer to use the included step for easier entry and exit.
In our lab tests, when the room temperature is 25°C (77°F), the Polar Smart Wet Food Feeder can cool food to around 12°C (54°F). This helps slow bacterial growth without freezing the food or affecting its texture. Just before serving, cooling is paused for about 30 minutes so pets can enjoy meals at an ideal temperature.
The Polar Smart Wet Food Feeder is 19.6cm (7.7 inches) tall, with the edge of the lid opening at 15.5cm (6.1 inches). Therefore, we recommend that your cat's shoulder height be at least 15.5cm to use it comfortably

For all Petlibro fountains, we recommend refilling the water twice a week for one pet and more often for multiple pets. But don’t worry—the app will let you know when it’s time for a refill.
